Library 2022

 We finally made it to the Library. Our time will be every Monday after morning tea. Students were asked to take out 3 library books. One for personal reading (chapter book), they then were able to choose two others for reading. The expectation is that students are reading for at least 20mins 5 nights a week. This can look different in each home. Could be silent reading, being read too, listening to a story. Asking questions about what they are reading is also very helpful.

Welcome to Room 12 2022

  Welcome Back! I am very excited to be coming back in 2022, to Room 12. I hope you have all had a great break and are ready to get back into school. A little background into myself for those of you that don't know me. I was born and raised in Alberta Canada. I have been living in New Zealand for 16 years. My three boys and I have been calling Rotorua home for the past 7 years. I love to camp, play all sports and spend time with my boys on our farm. I am looking forward to all the adventures that 2022 will bring. I am a firm believer in reading at home, for the most part, this is the only ask I will have for my students in the form of homework. Reading at home can look different for each person. You could have someone read a book to you, you can listen to audiobooks, read online/device or read to someone else. The recommendation is for 20mins each day. With our very busy lives, this is often not achievable but it is the goal I would like everyone to strive for. A reading log went h

  The School Fun Run is all about FUN! October 21 2022 Get behind the school and help us reach our goal.  This is replacing the Gala Day this year. How Does My Child Fundraise? Firstly, go to schoolfunrun.co.nz and create a student profile page. Everything to do with your fundraising revolves around this page. Share the page with family and friends ( Facebook, Email or text ) and let the fundraising begin.  The children can offer to do a chore, help in some way to exchange for sponsorship.  The children can have fun watching their page evolve, collect stickers, earn badges and see the leaderboard. Students who raise just $10 will be able to choose a prize! The more they raise, the better their reward – you will find the full range in your sponsorship form.  WIN  JUICY’S FOR THE CLASS The class who has the most profiles by Friday 16th will receive Juicy’s.   Winners will have the Juicy’s delivered to their class on Monday 20 September.
