Week 10

Bonjour Whānau ,  I have safely arrived in Canada and spent the most wonderful day with my family at my family farm.  A huge thank you to Mrs. Trask who has taken on Room 12 for the last week of this term. Please if you have any questions you can contact her on janet@stmarysrotorua.school.nz Huge thank you to all the parents, grandparents and Aunties who were able to come and celebrate our Matariki breakfast and look at the children's work. It was lovely for the children to showcase their learning and  make some really lucky people a coffee. Monday - Please bring your Library books to exchange so that you have new ones for the holidays. I am already half way through my book. Let’s make it two pizza parties in a row and aim for 100% again. Mrs Trask will send home the holiday reading sheet but you can also write down on a piece of paper.    Wednesday is the principals morning tea for a couple of kids from each class.  Have a wonderful break and we...

If you were unable to come and meet please email me and we can set up another time to chat. jilld@stmarysrotorua.school.nz Library will be on a Monday starting week 3, children will be asked to take out two books one for home reading and one for at school. Swimming will start in week 5. The gates will be open from 8:30 - 8:45 for drop off. The only gate open after 8:45 will be the Carnot St. gate, this includes during the day. If your child has a sibling in Kakano we will be asking you to pick up at 2:50 this year. Bus students and after-school care will leave then also. Everyone else will be at 3pm. Welcome to Room 12 2022

Image
Welcome Back! I am very excited to be coming back in 2022, to Room 12. I hope you have all had a great break and are ready to get back into school. A little background into myself for those of you that don't know me. I was born and raised in Alberta Canada. I have been living in New Zealand for 16 years. My three boys and I have been calling Rotorua home for the past 7 years. I love to camp, play all sports and spend time with my boys on our farm. I am looking forward to all the adventures that 2022 will bring. I am a firm believer in reading at home, for the most part, this is the only ask I will have for my students in the form of homework. Reading at home can look different for each person. You could have someone read a book to you, you can listen to audiobooks, read online/device or read to someone else. The recommendation is for 20mins each day. With our very busy lives, this is often not achievable but it is the goal I would like everyone to strive for. A reading log went h...
