Stage 2
This week your child is learning words that end with a ‘silent e’. The letter ‘e’ at the end of the word does not represent a sound, but it makes the vowel closest to it have a long vowel sound. Read through the list with them first. Ask your child to identify the vowel that is saying its letter name because of the ‘silent e’.
