Week 1 - Term 2 - 2022
WEEK 1 TERM 2 2022
Welcome back to Term 2. Wasn’t the weather great? I hope you had plenty of time to relax and are now all set for a great term.
Please remember your reading logs need to be returned, we need everyone on board so that we can have a pizza and chips lunch on Mr. M. Write down any book that you read, had read to you, or listened too.
A letter was sent to parents regarding the wearing of masks for our class. Normal hygiene protocols will be followed with children sanitizing each time they enter a learning space and wearing a mask (year 4 up).
During the holidays Noah Lomas and Rebecca de la Rocha represented the school at the ANZAC Parade and Civic Ceremony. We laid flowers at the conclusion of the ceremony. The ceremony was much shorter this year and was held outside because of Covid, never the less it was a fitting occasion.
3 Way Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Please make an appointment via “School Interviews”.
Week 2 Term 2 Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences
We have Three-Way Conferences (for Parent/Student/Teacher) scheduled for Tuesday 10 May and Wednesday 11 May. Families can choose the day that will work best for them.
Students and their parent(s) need to attend a 10 minute appointment on one of these two days. Details are provided below for how to make an appointment.
Appointments available
Tuesday 10 May 3.15 - 6.45pm
Wednesday 11 May 3.15 - 5.35pm
How to make a booking
Bookings are now open. How do parents make a booking for their child's Three Way Conference?
There are a number of ways bookings can be made. Either:
1) Go to the School App and then the Links section then School Interviews. Enter the code akwma
2) Go to www.school interviews.co.nz and enter the event code akwm
Next Sunday is Mother’s Day and the PTA is running a Gift Store for the children to buy their treasures for their mums.
Reminders:
School starts at 8.45 am for all students. There will not be staff at the gates in the morning. We do ask that you drop your child off at a reasonable time - when the kids are in the room we like to give them our full attention so 8-8:30am is often the only time we have to set up the learning for the day and catch up on paperwork. Mary-Anne runs a very affordable before and after school programme that your child would be cared for with supervision
School finishes at 3.00 pm for all students except bus students who will leave their classrooms at 2.50 pm.
Students are to sanitise their hands as they come through the school gates
If your child is late to school they must report to the office before they go to class.
If your child needs to isolate because they have Covid they must isolate for 7 days, effectively 5 days of school. There will no longer be a Home Learning programme offered to students who are absent. Children should just focus on getting well.
Winter uniform is to be worn. We do appreciate that some uniform items are unavailable at the moment.
