Week 9 Term 3 2022

Wow, what a week we had last week. Ruby came to school for the week and is doing really well. She was joined on Friday with Hulk and Pixie. We also had 21 of our 28 students compete in the mini-marathon. I am so proud of the kids who are trying new things. 

We also won the class with the most enrolments in the FunRun we will win our iceblocks on Monday. Congrats and thank you for helping our school. This run is due to not having the Gala this year. Some of the funds from Gala are used to buy the reading challenge prizes. Just to dismiss any myths the paint used washes out of clothes and will not harm any child. It is a great day and the kids will be having fun going through an obstacle course/run and helping out our school.

We have planted our little garden and will be doing some cooking with vegetables watch this space!

Congratulations to Noah and Louis for their gold medals in the Miggs gym competition.

This week we will be putting the finishing touches on our school production - the whole school is buzzing with excitement!  The props are made, the stage is ready to be set up and we have most of our costumes in. We will be having dress rehearsals this week so they need to be sent to school, please. A big thanks to the people who have already brought in their costumes. Don't freak out if you haven't sent anything in, yet - dress rehearsals are later this week but as soon as possible would be really great. Please, please, please name each item of clothing and the bag that they come to school in. This will make things much easier - Thank you. 


Room 12 Costumes

Plain White T-Shirt / Shirt or Top

GIRLS: Any coloured knee length Skirt (No tight mini skirts)

BOYS: Any plain BLACK or NAVY BLUE pants, jeans or track pants.

Scarves/ties are being provided.


Hair

Boys = gelled up hair either slicked back or spiky

Girls = slicked back high ponytail or Half up Half down


Make Up

Show lights can wash out faces on stage. Especially in the nighttime performances. A little make-up is all that is needed for the class dances but it is up to you and the kids to decide if you want to wear it or not.


The Little Red Rocking Hood Production site has heaps of information, including pictures of hair and make-up. The kids all have access to this site through their Year 4-6 landing page.




Outside of the rehearsals etc, we are going to keep rolling with our learning. We will wrap up our someone important to us writing, do some maths review work and work on spelling and reading in our home classes. We will also be looking at the talents that God gave us and how we can use them to spread his love.

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

  • Put all ingredients in the bag.
  • squeeze out air.
  • place bag underneath arm and squish until all the ingredients are mixed and creamy.
  • snip corner and sqeeze out fudge. Enjoy!

  Welcome Back! I am very excited to be coming back in 2022, to Room 12. I hope you have all had a great break and are ready to get back into school. A little background into myself for those of you that don't know me. I was born and raised in Alberta Canada. I have been living in New Zealand for 16 years. Week 4 - Term 1 - 2022

Sunday, 20 February 2022 Week 4 Term 1 2022 The Year 4 tribe is an awesome group of kids. We have had weeks filled with laughter and smiles and are really loving working with this little team. It’s going to be a great year. We completed a B.P. Challenge this week to build the longest and strongest bridge. The challenge taught us many things about working together as a team. We also had our winner of the class reading draw - Indie was able to go on Thursday with Mrs. Dinniss to have lunch. Can't wait until next term to see who wins. On Friday we went to mass. Father was so happy to see all of the children in the Church again. We had a strong message from Father that even though we can't see God he is always there for us, that through prayer we can become closer to him. Week 3 - Term 1 - 2022

  13/02/22 Kia ora, Welcome to week 3! We had a wonderful start to the year last week with students excited to be back. This weekend, it felt like we might be experiencing the first signs of fall with the rain, cooler temps and leaves falling. Let's hope mother nature allows us a little more summer in the weeks to come.  We will be starting some of our required testing this week to give us an indication as to where your tamariki is since the end of last year. We will be starting up with our maths, writing and reading programmes over the week and encourage you to talk to your child about what they have been doing in class. Maths - We will be looking at addition and subtraction.
