Last full week of school for 2022

 I can't believe we are almost done for 2022. 

Monday we have our mystery trip. All information needed was on a post from Dec 1. A huge thank you to all the people that have offered to drive. Our drivers should have all gotten an information slip on Thursday.

The drivers are: Ang Mathis, Nora Leatherland, Taina Squibb, Mr. Walker, Tara Grant, and myself.


Children will need NO devices on Monday, a change of clothes (labelled), or togs and a towel. Food and water for the day as there is nowhere to purchase anything.


We are publishing a school magazine again this year, and this will be available during the last week of this term. At this stage, there are only to be 100 magazines printed. It will be a great memento of 2021. Orders are taken now with the cost for the magazine being $10.00.

Important Dates:

Swimming - It is our week for swimming and we will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday


Wednesday 7th December is the Principal's Lunch.


Swimming Sports and Tryathlon 2022 - THURSDAY 8TH DECEMBER 

Rotorua Aquatic Centre, Tarewa Road, Rotorua

 

Information to Parents & Caregivers

Points to note:

 

We will be having a triathlon and biathlon at the swimming sports this year. The triathlon involves swim, bike and running. The run and biking will be in the park next door and will not entail riding on the road. If your child wants to participate in this they will need to bring their bike and helmet with them to the Aquatic Centre.  Bikes will be secure inside the Aquatic Centre.

The biathlon is a swim and run.

Children will choose one of these events, not both.

 

  • The programme is for our middle and senior school students - Years 3, 4, 5 & 6.

  • The swimming sports will be held at the Rotorua Aquatic Centre on Tarewa Road in Rotorua.

  • Years 4 – 6 students need to be dropped off at the Aquatic Centre on the day by 8:45 am.

  • Swimming sports will finish at approximately 2:30pm. Children need to be collected from the Aquatic Centre by 3:00pm at the latest.

  • If your child attends After School Care or they usually catch the bus home they will be picked up by bus and returned to school from the Aquatic Centre at 2:30 pm.

  • Children may come to swimming sports in their house colours, they may wear their togs under their clothes. There will be points for the ‘Best Dressed House.’ Teachers will be dressing up too!

  • Children will need – togs & towel, sunhat, sunblock, warm clothes, morning tea, lunch & water.


Should the event need to be cancelled, this information will be put on our website by 7:30 am and a notification sent via Facebook and the school phone app.

  13/02/22 Kia ora, Welcome to week 3! We had a wonderful start to the year last week with students excited to be back. This weekend, it felt like we might be experiencing the first signs of fall with the rain, cooler temps and leaves falling. Mystery Trip Info

 Wow, what a great response of volunteers for our mystery trip on the 5th. Unfortunately, we are unable to afford to take everyone. Parents that are driving have been notified today.  Kids will need to be at school no later than 8:45 as we will be leaving the school then. Kids will be able to wear mufti and will need togs or a change of clothes and towel that is all labeled, please (this includes undies). We will need a backpack with the following sunscreen, hats, morning tea, lunch, water bottle, togs or change of clothes and towel. You will not need any form of device. Plan: Leave school no later than 9am Arrive at first check-in and complete the challenges with the team (car driver) leader,  eat morning tea. 11:30 travel to the second destination and eat lunch. 2:00 gather up into cars and be ready to return to school by 2:15.
