Week 2 --------Where Did You Go

 Wow, what a full-on week! 

A few highlights from the week were seeing how much fun the kids had at athletics. Everyone had such a great attitude and try hard attitude.

We also had a very fun day today with our Grandparents and special friends coming to spend mass with us. Thank you for the shared morning tea, we had a lovely healthy spread as well as some special treats.

I lost my phone for most of the day, but did get a few photos from the Andrew Chinn session. I think it would be fair to say R12 won the most prizes so well done.

We swim all week next week. As the team from Swimsation is in, we will be swimming first every morning so if kids want to wear their togs to school under their uniforms that would be fine.

  Welcome Back! I am very excited to be coming back in 2022, to Room 12. I hope you have all had a great break and are ready to get back into school. A little background into myself for those of you that don't know me. I was born and raised in Alberta Canada. I have been living in New Zealand for 16 years. I am looking forward to all the adventures that 2022 will bring. I am a firm believer in reading at home, for the most part, this is the only ask I will have for my students in the form of homework. Reading at home can look different for each person. You could have someone read a book to you, you can listen to audiobooks, read online/device or read to someone else. Week 3 - Term 1 - 2022

  13/02/22 Kia ora, Welcome to week 3! We had a wonderful start to the year last week with students excited to be back. This weekend, it felt like we might be experiencing the first signs of fall with the rain, cooler temps and leaves falling. Let's hope mother nature allows us a little more summer in the weeks to come.  We will be starting some of our required testing this week to give us an indication as to where your tamariki is since the end of last year. We will be starting up with our maths, writing and reading programmes over the week and encourage you to talk to your child about what they have been doing in class. Maths - We will be looking at addition and subtraction. A fun game for the car is to have the kids ask you math questions, sometimes answer correctly sometimes wrong see if they can catch you a point for the person who guesses correctly. start at first with simple questions to 10 5+5=10, 4+3=7, 9-5=4 try and answer as quickly as possible.
