Week 5 Term 4 2022

 Well done to all the Room 12 students who are keeping on task despite the many interruptions going on at the moment.  This term is very, very busy and we need to ensure we make the most of the time we have in class.

If you have overdue library books, please have a good look for them and bring them in on Monday. 

We do not have swimming this week, but will next week. Cricket is again on Thursday so please make sure you have your PE gear.  

Last week, all the teachers were given a name of a staff member as a Guardian Angel. It was such a nice gesture to know that someone was thinking of them that I have decided that we could do the same in R12 this week. All Room 12 students will be given the name of a class member and will become their Guardian Angel for a week. They will need to keep it a secret for a week. What can a Guardian Angel do during the week?  Pray for the person, leave a kind note on their desk, give them a compliment, and even sneak a small gift into their tote tray (something small - this is not about spending money).  Let's see how appreciative we can make each other feel in week 5 and if you can keep your person a surprise.

Reminders

- wear your activity tracker, please

- charge your Chromebook every night (we use them almost everyday)

- bring your headphones every day (essential - online assessments coming up)

- bring your reading books every day (yes, we read every day even in Year 4!)

- the bell to come in and get organised is at 8:30 and our school day starts at 8:45

Welcome to Room 12 2022

  Welcome Back! I am very excited to be coming back in 2022, to Room 12. I hope you have all had a great break and are ready to get back into school. A little background into myself for those of you that don't know me. I was born and raised in Alberta Canada. I have been living in New Zealand for 16 years. My three boys and I have been calling Rotorua home for the past 7 years. I love to camp, play all sports and spend time with my boys on our farm. I am looking forward to all the adventures that 2022 will bring. I am a firm believer in reading at home, for the most part, this is the only ask I will have for my students in the form of homework. Reading at home can look different for each person. You could have someone read a book to you, you can listen to audiobooks, read online/device or read to someone else.   The School Fun Run is all about FUN! October 21 2022 Get behind the school and help us reach our goal.  This is replacing the Gala Day this year. How Does My Child Fundraise? Firstly, go to schoolfunrun.co.nz and create a student profile page. Everything to do with your fundraising revolves around this page. Share the page with family and friends ( Facebook, Email or text ) and let the fundraising begin.  The children can offer to do a chore, help in some way to exchange for sponsorship.  The children can have fun watching their page evolve, collect stickers, earn badges and see the leaderboard. Students who raise just $10 will be able to choose a prize! The more they raise, the better their reward – you will find the full range in your sponsorship form.  WIN  JUICY’S FOR THE CLASS The class who has the most profiles by Friday 16th will receive Juicy’s.   Winners will have the Juicy’s delivered to their class on Monday 20 September.
