Week 7 - Term 4 - 2022

 Week 7 what!!!!! I can't believe how fast this term is going. It is very important to look for those missing library books this weekend. We have the library on Monday, but you can bring them in any day this week. If they aren't found you will be issued with a bill for these missing books.


I am out of the class on Tuesday as my sister and mum are flying in for a visit and I need to pick them up from the airport. I will also be out on Wednesday as it is the interschool athletics day. Mrs Trask will be in for me and knows the kids really well. There seems to be a bit of sickness around with children having snotty noses and headaches please have water bottles for the kids.

Swimming sports/Triathlon 2022
The form has been completed by 21/28 Room 12 families. Thank you. We might be in the running for that hot chip lunch - just waiting in the remaining 7 to click the link and fill in their details, please.

Our school library will be closing on Friday 3 December 2022, in order to commence work on the annual library stocktake.  ALL BOOKS ISSUED TO STUDENTS ARE THEREFORE TO BE RETURNED TO SCHOOL BY THIS DATE.  School books have a "yellow" St Mary's School Library, Rotorua sticker on the front cover and a St Mary's School Barcode on the back cover.


Our St Mary's M.A.D (Making a Difference) Crew are running a Christmas craft stall at the Night Market on Thursday 1st December from 5pm. All proceeds will go towards a community group that needs some extra Christmas cheer. We would love our St Mary's school community to come down and support their stall.

  Welcome Back! I am very excited to be coming back in 2022, to Room 12. I hope you have all had a great break and are ready to get back into school. A little background into myself for those of you that don't know me. I was born and raised in Alberta Canada. I have been living in New Zealand for 16 years. My three boys and I have been calling Rotorua home for the past 7 years. I love to camp, play all sports and spend time with my boys on our farm. Reading at home can look different for each person. You could have someone read a book to you, you can listen to audiobooks, read online/device or read to someone else. Week 3 - Term 1 - 2022

  13/02/22 Kia ora, Welcome to week 3! We had a wonderful start to the year last week with students excited to be back. This weekend, it felt like we might be experiencing the first signs of fall with the rain, cooler temps and leaves falling. Let's hope mother nature allows us a little more summer in the weeks to come.  We will be starting some of our required testing this week to give us an indication as to where your tamariki is since the end of last year. We will be starting up with our maths, writing and reading programmes over the week and encourage you to talk to your child about what they have been doing in class. Maths - We will be looking at addition and subtraction. A fun game for the car is to have the kids ask you math questions, sometimes answer correctly sometimes wrong see if they can catch you a point for the person who guesses correctly. start at first with simple questions to 10 5+5=10, 4+3=7, 9-5=4 try and answer as quickly as possible.
